3/4 SUPER SPIRAL BURR
3/4 SUPER SPIRAL BURR
Great for roughing out full ports and pocket ports. Superchargers or anything that a LOT of metal needs to be removed.
- Expert level required
- does NOT work on cast iron or steel of any kind
- will NOT leave a smooth finish - you will need to go back over anything you grind with our 1/2 first
- VERY fast stock removal
- Made from Carbide not cheap steel that chips or bends easily
- Super spiral design
Dave's Take:
This burr is the honey badger of burrs. It simply doesn't care how much material you need to remove; it is coming out and it is coming out VERY quickly. That is why it is for an expert level. This is the baddest burr on the planet.
The 3/4 burr is my go-to for almost everything. It shapes effortlessly and there is minimal need for lube. I have multiple of these because I cut the two different lengths depending on how hard I am going to be porting, or if the runner is long or short. So, pocket port I would use a short 4 inch and a short turn I use the whole 6-inch length, so I have the most leverage. I do this because the 6 inch will deflect when pushing really hard, and I am always pushing hard.
When doing a full port, I use the 5/8 to rough it out and then go over it with the 1/2 at full speed and then again at slow speed or when doing a pocket port, I will switch to the 3/8 double cut burr for a smooth finish.
