Dave's Take:
The 1/2 burr is my go to for almost everything. I have multiple of these because I cut the to different lengths depending on how hard I am going to be porting, or if the runner is long or short. So, pocket port I would use a short 4 inch and a short turn I use the whole 6 inch length so I have the most leverage. I do this because the 6 inch will deflect when pushing really hard, and I am always pushing hard.
When doing a full port, I use the 3/4 to rough it out and then go over it with the 1/2 at full speed and then again at slow speed or switch to the 3/8 double cut burr for a smooth finish. Be sure to check out our useful YouTube tutorials on using these burrs!
