Pocket porting is porting the area under the valve seat. This is the most crucial area of any cylinder head. We resize and reshape this area to a certain percentage of the size of the valve. Not just anything would do here. It’s crucial to get it right. Short side radius is also done, ensuring this is a smooth transition to the port, as well as the valve job.
With the Pocket Port, the runners stay factory stock, and you can see the porting shining in the background in the bowl area. The runners stay stock because we don’t want to increase the volume of the port.
